Dear Cobirders,

A fine birding day today in the rain sleet and spitting snow.

Among the highlights were one Wilson's Phalarope, 2 Least Sandpipers and 6
Semipalmated Plovers at the new wetlands.

At the now underwater spit in the southeast corner there were at least 60
White-faced Ibis, a single Marbled Godwit and 14 Willets all ankle deep in
the water.

All common species of swallows were easily seen perched low south of the
handicapped fishing pier and east of the parking area there.

At the wetlands area across the road from the model airplane field I saw a
Great-tailed Grackle in a tangle close to the water.my first of that species
in Arapahoe County.
