Huge thanks for all the help today for Bill Maynard, John Drummond and Brandon Percival. Also, thanks to the whole gang of 30 DFO Birders for coming out to Chico Basin. Bill and Brandon volunteered to come out earlier in the week, if the group got too large. The group size was manageable due to weather reports and due to the efforts of those jumping in to help lead and scout. Whole group was really a joy. Weather turned out to be nearly perfect. Keen birds on trip included. 1. Summer Tanager found by Mark Marciniak close to Casita and then at Casita. 2. Wood Thrush found by Brandon Percival at HQ Ponds. 3. American Redstart found by Robert Parsons at Rose Pond. Bill Maynard and I were discussing that weather and winds reports should not scare birders off. 95% of all birding days are a success in some way. I am always appreciative of the support from the greater Colorado birding community in making all our field opportunities enjoyable. Hope to see you all next time. Best Wishes and Good Birding: Charles Thornton-Kolbe, President, Denver Field Ornithologists
