A warm, sunny day, but really windy! Migrating Raptors: Cooper's Hawk 2 Unidentified Accipiters 2 Osprey 2
Other interesting species: A very tame Rock Wren has arrived, perhaps it will nest in the rocks of our observation platform. The local Red-tailed Hawk with molting P1R and P3R is still present but the missing feathers are not as obvious. Raptor flight patterns are different in the high wind. They disappear immediately after passing. Some of the local vultures and Red-tailed Hawks may have been migrants but it was difficult to tell. The inverse may be true of the 4 accipiters I identified as migrants.
