Dear Cobirders,
Given the late night switch to SE winds following yesterdays bluster, I
assumed that the birding would be good first thing in the morning at Twin Lakes
in Gubarrel. I was not disappointed. There were numerous species of Warblers
and in large numbers as well. There were singing Yellow Warblers, Audubon's
Warblers, Myrtle Warblers, Clay-colored Sparrows, Green-tailed Towhees,
Lincoln's Sparrows, Orange-crowned Warblers, Common Yellowthroats, at least one
Wilson's Warbler and notably, one Townsend's Warbler. The birding here is just
starting to pick-up and promises to be as good as last year when folks saw a
total of 11 species of Warbler.
Cheers,
Walter Szeliga
