While doing raptor monitoring at Chatfield today I discovered a perched
black morph BWHAwk on the concrete trail from the Plum Creek parking lot. It
was about half way along the trail after crossing the bridge in an open area
to the right. It was skittish and flew twice while I was in the area and
will probably not be around long. A Chatfield and Douglas County first for
me!

Another good find was a Cooper's Hawk standing on a nest visible from the
parking lot.

Glenn Walbeck reported a female Parula Warbler in a flock of Yellow-rumps in
the woods near the flooded trail to the Plum Creek river mouth but I could
not find it. The water continues to be very high.
