Hello, Birders. I saw and heard a Carolina Wren along Bear Creek, Boulder County, earlier today, Sunday, May 9th. The bird was in dense shrubbery centered at 39.997905 N, 105.247999 W. It was hard to see, but it was nicely vocal, giving both the titmouse-like chatter and the insect-like "tulip" call. Access: Park in the southwest corner of the lot at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church (off Baseline Road)--by the community garden plots. The bird was approximately 425 feet upstream from the playground by the garden plots. Beware: The site is surrounded by private property and restricted public land. Stay on the trail! There were several Dusky Flycatchers in the general area. Earlier in the morning, at Sale Lake, Boulder County, Hannah and Andrew and I saw an adult Broad-winged Hawk, seasonal landbird migrants, and Lonny Frye and Casey and Micah. ------------------------------- Ted Floyd Editor, Birding Follow Birding magazine on Twitter: http://twitter.com/BirdingMagazine ------------------------------- _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail is redefining busy with tools for the New Busy.
