Hi Folks,

I took a walk around Croke Res. in Northglenn this morning. This is a
Northglenn "natural area" that is located one block North 104th Ave on Huron
St. It is a fun place for a quick walk and at times can be very birdy. It is
also only two blocks from my house. In the very NE corner for what passes as
"grassland" I flushed a Grasshopper Sparrow! It flew up into an elm and posed
for a couple of quick photos. It just goes to show that migrants can show up
almost anywhere in almost any kind of habitat ! Other birds of interest were
several Empids including a singing Least, a female Wood Duck and a
MacGillivray's Warbler. I also walked along Boulder Creek near 55th St this
morning and found a nice Veery and a male Blackpoll Warbler. This is definitely
their weekend.
Later,
