Hi Everyone--

Sunday 5/16 was too warm and sunny to be anywhere near as birdy as Saturday,
but there were some good birds around, nevertheless. At Lamar Community
College, I found a singing male Golden-winged Warbler and a 1st year male
American Redstart at the north end, and saw two Mississippi Kites soaring
overhead. A Yellow-breasted Chat was singing in the middle, and a
White-winged Dove was at the south end. At Two Buttes, I saw a male Orchard
Oriole. At Nee Noshe Reservoir, a White-rumped Sandpiper and a Baird's
Sandpper were on the east shore, and I could barely make out a pair of Snowy
Plovers on the west shore. Last Chance was relatively quiet, but two
Northern Waterthrushes, multiple Least Flycatchers, and a Cassin's Kingbird
were still around, and a pair of Evening Grosbeaks came into the pool under
the highway bridge for a drink. I couldn't imagine where they came from.
