Hi all, During a brief visit this late afternoon to the parking lot area of Gregory Canyon, Boulder, we saw and heard a Bell's Vireo. It was on the trail just over the bridge from the parking lot and to the left about 20 m, traveling with a Virginia's Warbler. We also separately had a MacGillivray's Warbler traveling in close association with a Virginia's, another 30 m along the trail that doubles back and follows down the creek for a hundred meters or so. A few days ago we had Western Tanagers, Lazuli Buntings, Black-headed Grosbeaks, Willow Flycatchers and an Empid we couldn't ID despite it calling frequently...who sounds a bit like a Least but only gives single, two-syllable calls and hangs out at all levels, from near ground all the way up into the canopy? There were Plumbeous Vireos farther up the canyon. We also had a fairly carefully counted +/- 35 Evening Grosbeaks there a few days before that. Around a week ago we had a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak behind the NOAA buildings in Boulder.
