Hi Birders,

Both days, it has been cool and active until about 10 a.m., and then the heat
kicks in and the birds take shelter. Ah, yes, and wind. We are in the mid-20s
for new birds now, with a few cool first of season and unusual birds each day.
Today, we have a first ever at the station Black and White Warbler (female) and
a Brown Thrasher, first since 2004.

Here is the TOTAL new birds for the 2 days (26 on Monday, 25 on Tuesday):

Western Wood-Pewee (FOS) 1

House Wren 3

Gray Catbird 10 new, 1 return from 2006

Brown Thrasher (1st since 2004) 1

Cedar Waxwing (FOS) 2

Yellow Warbler 19 new, 1 return, banded 2006 & caught every year since

Black & White Warbler (1st for station) 1

Wilson's Warbler 1

Yellow-breasted Chat 5

Song Sparrow 1

Lincoln's Sparrow 2

Black-headed Grosbeak 1

Brown-headed Cowbird 1 return from 2009

Pine Siskin 1

Weather forecast for the next few days is more of the same; come out, but come
early! We are catching most of our birds between 7 and 9:30.
