I was surprised to see an adult BROAD-WINGED HAWK soaring over the ponderosa pine forest at the Eldorado Mountain Open Space this morning. A tad late. Watching a bull snake devour three American Robin nestlings was also quite a sight.
The previously reported OVENBIRD is still singing from his location in the drainage south of the intersection of the Mesa Trail and the North Fork Shanahan Trail as of yesterday. This is his third year at this spot.
