Hi Everyone--

I spent a wet but productive morning around Norma's Grove in Weld County
(WCR 100 east of WCR 57). The Wood Thrush was still around, flying across
WCR 100 several times and giving good looks along the creek on the south
side. Bonus birds included a Black-billed Cuckoo seen well on the south side
and a Red-eyed Vireo that showed itself briefly on the north side and sang
sporadically on the south side all morning. The full list is of interest:

Killdeer - 1 (on WCR 100)
Mourning Dove - 2
Great Horned Owl - 2
Black-billed Cuckoo - 1
Western Wood-Pewee - 2
Western Kingbird - 2
Warbling Vireo - 1
Red-eyed Vireo - 1
Wood Thrush - 1
Swainson's Thrush - 1
American Robin - 4
European Starling - X
Yellow Warbler - 2
Green-tailed Towhee - 1
Lark Bunting - 1
Dark-eyed Junco (Pink-sided) - 1
Red-winged Blackbird - 2
Common Grackle - 4
Bullock's Oriole - 1

A Cassin's Sparrow was launching itself into song flights at the corner of
WCR 51 and WCR 90. Crow Valley had a robin tending a nest, and a soaking wet
fledgling Great Horned Owl, but no rarities.

Caution: WCR 100 turns into peanut butter in and east of Norma's Grove, and
WCR 57 between CO-14 and WCR 100 isn't a whole lot better. Be careful out
there. The creek in Crow Valley Campground is running higher than I've ever
seen it. Ford at your peril.
