I went back to Northern Otero County to try to refind the Long-billed Curlew family I found last week. I was successful and I got a photo of the male, female & chick together plus one of the male and the chick. I also got some video of the birds. The curlews stayed 250-300 feet away almost all of the time so I had to 'push' my photo enlargement. Fortunately my camcorder has a 40 power optical zoom tho the birds are clearly distant in the videos. I am in the process of uploading a video of the chick foraging in the grassland, being joined briefly by the adult female which gives a good comparison of these birds. The photos are already up and the video will soon be posted to my BirdsAndNature <http://BirdsAndNature.blogspot.com>blog.
