Saw my first Warbling Vireo today on the Grouse creek Trail that is a half
mile past the ranger station on the turnoff from I 70 towards Minturn. When
you start up the trail near the top of the first rise there is a trail off
to the Left-south. There is a grove of aspen there and the bird was in that
grove singing its heart out. Heard green tailed towhees at the start of the
trail, saw several other birds: red napped ss, northern flicker, R-tailed
hawk, I was too late to see to many other birds, not starting until 1pm.
