Jeannie Mitchell and I spent a few hours at Chico Basin Ranch this morning (fee
area). In addition to the summer birds including a singing/fluttering Cassin's
Sparrow (EPC), we saw 2 Greater Yellowlegs, 3 Dowitchers I tried to turn into
Short-billed's but I just don't know enough about them, and a Baird's Sandpiper
in Pueblo County. A nice Prairie Falcon was on a power pole outside the ranch.
Southbound migration is arriving at Chico.
