This is a shameless plug for a fundraiser that benefits Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Lyons. We have a lot of great auction items, but one of interest to my fellow birders is a four-hour Boulder County birding tour for up to six people conducted by Joe Prentice, a local bird expert and Daily Camera journalist. This item will be available for up to a year after the auction. He will also provide a checklist for everyone in your group.
This fundraiser takes place Friday, September 10 at the Glenn Miller Ballroom at CU-Boulder. For more information about this event visit the Greenwood website: http://www.greenwoodwildlife.org/fundraiser.php Oh and btw, other items include condo stays in Puerto Vallarta, Maui and Keystone, lunch with the acclaimed animal behaviorist Marc Bekoff (who will be speaking at the event), a private tour of the Wild Animal Sanctuary (with - yes - lions, tigers, and bears), a shopping spree in downtown Longmont, an electric scooter and lots more. A bit about Greenwood: this non-profit cares for 2,000 - 3,000 animals each year representing over 130 different wildlife species. Most of the patients are birds and small mammals.
