Hi Cobirders,

The Kingerys were out with Audubon’s Beginning Birder class today. We caught
33 birds of 17 different species, making for a great teaching morning. I
remembered that my first trip to the Barr Lake Banding Station was with this
class in 1997.

Here’s the breakdown:

Dusky Flycatcher 1
Black-capped Chickadee 1
Rock Wren 1
House Wren 5
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 2
Swainson’s Thrush 1 repeat
Hermit Thrush 2
American Robin 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 3
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Myrtle 1 (FOS)
Yellow-rumpbed Warbler, Audubon 1
Wilson’s Warbler 5 new, 2 repeats
Chipping Sparrow 2
Song Sparrow 1
Lincoln’s Sparrow 1
Pink-sided Junco 2
Blue Grosbeak 1 repeat

Love these coolish, sunny days!

Meredith
