Hi Everyone--

Today 9/26 I went over to Boulder Reservoir to look for terns. I saw none.
There were still two Sabine's Gulls near the dam. A Chestnut-collared
Longspur called on its way over the reservoir, and an American Pipit was
heard nearby. There were 17 Ruddy Ducks in the middle of the reservoir.

I then wandered over to Walden Ponds. At the east end of the boardwalk at
Cottonwood Marsh, an American Bittern was doing his best to look like a
reed, but as he was standing in an area with no reeds, he didn't hide very
well. I also saw a Virginia Rail, a Wilson's Snipe, and a Marsh Wren there.
(How often do you get to look straight down on a Marsh Wren?) A fair number
of American Wigeon have found the pond already.
