Enjoyed an unusually warm morning at Lon Hagler SWA.

Highlights were an adult female Red-naped Sapsucker with an immature, and a
hunting Loggerhead Shrike. It was surprisingly birdy for this time of year.

Robins were everywhere in their typical Kamakazi style, a couple were making a
call I'd never heard before, a three note clear, see seE SEE. I saw them do it.
Not like their very high pitched SeeEET that they sometimes do.
Orange-crowned, Yellow-rumped and Wilson's Warblers
Song, White-crowned, Clay-colored Sparrows
Northern Flickers in Red/Yellow and combinations thereof.
Black-capped Chickadees, WB Nuthatch
Common Grackles, RW Blackbirds,
W. Meadowlarks
Lesser Goldfinches, Downy Woodpeckers,
Red-tailed Hawk, AM. W. Pelican, RB Gull. A few Mallards. The water (main lake
AND lower pond) was pretty quiet.
A bevy of screaming Black-billed Magpies

And a thirsty Wood Rat
