We have two "female-type"-plumaged RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS in our South Boulder yard today [Oct 2]. This seems a late date for this species; although they are in fact the first Rufous Hummingbirds that we have seen in our yard (south-east of of Table Mesa and Broadway) this Fall.
They were going frantic bathing under a sprinkler that I had running to water our trees.
