Ron,

Eurasian Collared-Doves are not native birds (like their name,they were
native to Eurasia) and they breed like rabbits with multiple nestings.  In
my area of the state where we have milder winters some even breed during
late fall and early spring months.  Since they live off of handouts at bird
feeders and places with spilled feed they don't have to worry that about
food sources during the winter like native birds.
