Hi Birders,

Our new bird numbers remain in the teens, with almost as many repeats
(White-crowned Sparrows and Juncos that are likely at Barr Lake for the
winter). Today we also recaptured a really fiesty and noisy female Flicker
that was banded in 2008. One of her young was hanging out above the banding
station the whole time we had her, voicing his displeasure. After mom’s
release, they stayed in the trees above the station for the rest of the
morning, calling and flying around. Quite a display!

Here’s the breakdown of new birds:

Ruby-crowned Kinglet 2
Wilson’s Warbler 1
Chipping Sparrow 6
Song Sparrow 1
White-crowned Sparrow-Gambel’s 4
Oregon Junco 1

Open Tuesday, closed Wednesday, open balance of week (through weekend).
