Bob et al - The bird has been there since mid-morning, and is a great opportunity to see one easily. Questions - Is it a juvenile, or a molting adult? The cap is black, not gray, and is very well defined/set off from nearby features; the white is bright and extends almost all the way around the neck (ear patch); the "chin" is exceedingly white, not grayish-washed at all; the facial color is uniform; the rust color of the neck is more adult than juvenile-appearing. How does this bird compare with the one reported the past few days at Cherry Creek?

Cobirders,
This afternoon I unsuccessfully searched through at least a couple of hundred Western Grebes for the Red-necked Grebe. Driving around the park I stopped at the Cottonwood Creek impoundment pond across the road and east of the model airplane field and was surprised to see a juvenile Red-necked Grebe there.
