Hi cobirders Bringing in the paper this morning a large Coopers Hawk
(probable female) swooped down near the patio and missed
a sparrow and landed on the ground striking a great pose. Got away
before I got the camera.
Phone has been down twice since last Thursday when a strong thunder
storm came over my house just after midnight. For 10
minutes rain pounded down on the house. Then about 12:30 am pounding
came on the door "police! police" A young Sheriff
officer said he got a 911 call from here. I said I didn't call he
said the phone system can send it out! It was a brief but horrific
storm and I was OK . I checked and phone only had static was that way
until Thursday afternoon.
On Saturday the Oct. 9 at 1:45 PM I had 30 Eurasian Collared Doves on
the wires in backyard and the dead high limbs of the
Locust tree in front. Also about a 150 Red-wings and Starlings in
trees of neighbors to the north.
Well at least it is activity!
