I am finally beginning to get accustomed to using eBird. I am finding that the
data entry screens are extremely easy to navigate and typing is kept to a
minimum. I can generate a bird sighting list for a location faster using eBird
than I could with paper and pencil. The reports produced for personal list
management are extremely useful for listers. The data generated for science is
invaluable.

Exploring data submitted from Larimer County during the last 5 years, I can see
that Herring Gulls have begun to arrive 1-2 weeks earlier than usual this year.
State-wide historical data indicates that Cackling Goose and Tundra Swan are
late arriving this year.

These are just a few quick examples of how to use the incredibly robust
information resource that eBird has become, a tiny tip to a gargantuan iceberg
of birding information! Congratulations to Colorado’s home-grown Chris Wood,
the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and all the other people and institutions that
have made eBird a reality.
