The owl was on the NW side of the lake in the Prairie-dog colony - not close to the trail but occasionally up on a little mound for good views.
Lots of regulars on the lake itself - pelicans, grebes (mostly Western, one Pied), gulls, coots, Mallards and Ruddies, 2 Great Egret, at least on G-b Heron. Also one N.
