A vocal Carolina Wren sang and thus was easily seen this morning in Colorado City, SW Pueblo County. It was about 100 yards west of the CO City Sewage Treatment Plant(STP) along Greenhorn Creek. The Plant is located at the south end of Applewood Trailer Park accessed from CSH165 just west of its jct with I-25. Other area birds of interest: Sandhill Cranes--nice pops almost daily the past week in both CO City & Rye of flocks ranging from 15-50 birds. White-throated Sparrow today east of the STP near easterly dried up sewage pond. 2 Eastern Meadowlarks(probable Lilian's) at Craver Middle School(Crow-cutoff Rd-CO City) on 10-17-10; they cannot be relocated but still trying.
