Baca County:
--2 Nashville Warblers and a male Black-throated Blue Warbler were reported by 
Dexter at Two Buttes on October 17.
 
Boulder County:
--A Surf Scoter was reported by Gent at Boulder Reservoir on October 10.  It 
was in the NE quadrant.  On October 17, Kaempfer & Guarente reported 3 juv Surf 
Scoters at Boulder Reservoir.
--A Black Scoter was reported by Dan Maynard at Boulder Reservoir on October 
11.  It was in the SW quadrant.  Later on October 11, Waltman reported 3 
scoters at Boulder Reservoir, the male Black reported by Maynard and two 
additional female Black Scoters.  On October 12, Waltman reported 1 female type 
Black Scoter at Boulder Reservoir.
On October 16, Nunes reported a female type Black Scoter in the SW section of 
Boulder Reservoir.  On October 17, Kaempfer reported 1 female Black Scoter at 
Boulder Reservoir.
--On October 20, Hansley reported a possible BLUE-HEADED or Cassin's Vireo and 
a Swamp Sparrow on the South Boulder Creek Trail which is south
of Baseline and west of Cherryvale.  The birds were near the Bobolink 
Trailhead.  
 
El Paso County:
--A juv Sabine's Gull was reported by Wild at Big Johnson on October 18 and was 
seen again on October 19 by Bill Maynard.
--A Lapland Longspur was heard by Bill Maynard on the east side of Big Johnson 
east of the trail on October 19.
--An ad male Nashville Warbler was reported by Drummond in willows adjoining 
Monument creek near Palmer Lake Reservoir Trail head on October 22.
 
Gunnison County:
--An ad male Surf Scoter and female Black Scoter were reported by Dexter at the 
east end of Blue Mesa on October 19.
 
Jefferson County:
--A GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was reported by Cameron at the Red Rocks Trading 
Post on October 16.  The sparrow has been seen daily since then.  Chavez 
reported seeing the GOLDEN-CROWNED and White-throated Sparrows on October 21.  
Mark Chavez suggests taking bird seed to keep the birds coming.

Lake County:  Tim Kalbach reports a Brown Thrasher, a first county record, at 
the Mount Evans Forebay, along with a Barrow’s Goldeneye.


Larimer County:
--2 ad Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 1 ad Thayer's Gull were reported by Komar 
at Horseshoe Lake on October 19
--1 ad Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by Komar at Lake Loveland on 
October 19.

-- Leatherman found a female  Black-throated Blue Warbler and two Nashville 
Warblers of different subspecies along the Lake Estes Trail in Lake Estes and 
posted details about the exact location in Cobirds. The warblers were there 
until 5 PM on October 23. Starting at the visitor center, take the trail to 
crab apple trees between the trail and the fence around the power plant’s 
utility yard. 
 
Prowers County:--At Lamar Community College Woods a DOW employee and out of 
state visitors saw BLUE-HEADED VIREO, White-throated Sparrow, and 2 male 
Northern Cardinals on October 19.  Thanks to Dave Leatherman for forwarding 
this information.
 
Pueblo County:
--A Nashville Warbler and Swamp Sparrow were reported by Percival at Valco 
Ponds on October 18.
--A Northern Parula was reported by Percival at Rock Canyon below Pueblo 
Reservoir dam on October 19.
--A BLUE-HEADED VIREO was reported by Percival at Pueblo City Zoo on October 21.
--A vocal Carolina Wren was reported by Silverman in Colorado City about 100 
yards west of the Sewage Treatment Plant on October 22 and a White-throated 
Sparrow was at the east end of the plant.  The Plant is at the south end of 
Applewood Trailer Park and accessed from CO 165 just west of its junction with 
I-25.
 
Teller County:
--2 Swamp Sparrows were reported by Jeff Jones in a marsh beneath the dam at 
Manitou Lake on October 21.
 
Washington County:
--At Last Chance on October 17, Lee reported a Tennessee Warbler and a possible 
Nashville Warbler.

The DFO field trip for Sunday, October 24 will be to the Fort Collins Area led 
by Toni Rautus (303-422-7322) and Paul Slingsby (303-422-3728).  Meet at 0700 
to carpool at the Division of Wildlife (6060 N. Broadway).  Exit I-25 at 58th 
-- go west to Broadway 2 blocks, then north 2 blocks to parking lot on right.  
Call leader if coming.  All day trip -- bring lunch, walkie-talkies and layers 
of clothing.
