While sitting at the stoplight at Fair and Pierce Streets, at Columbine HS, a
male merlin passed about 100 ft overhead, heading east over the Leawood
neighborhood. The fact that he appeared just seconds behind a rock pigeon threw
me for a loop for a moment. Slight breeze, not the gale-force winds we've had
since Monday.
