The Arkansas Valley Audubon Society's Annual Pueblo Reservoir birding trip was
well attended today.  Lots of birders, though not as many birds as usual.  We
did see 15 or so Common Loons on the reservoir, an Osprey , and a Northern
Mockingbird.  The loons were flying around quite a bit, and we even heard a few
of them calling.

After the trip was over around noon to 1pm, David Chartier and I went over to
Pueblo City Park.  The hackberry tree east of the pond in Pueblo City Park was
loaded with birds.  We saw a Nashville Warbler, an Orange-crowned Warbler, and
a juvenile male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, among many other birds.

Later this afternoon, Mark Peterson and I went to Huerfano County to look for
Polly and Paul Neldner's female Eastern Towhee, and we were able to see and
hear her.  Great find, and big thanks to the Neldner's for allowing us to come
and visit.

As it was getting dark, Mark and I went over to Martin Lake at Lathrop State
Park, and we saw the continuing Red-necked Grebe and Pacific Loon, as well as 3
Common Loons.

A pretty fun day of birding!!
