Hello
All,

Late
Sunday afternoon (November 14), I visited the lake in Ketring Park in
Littleton. There were three late Eared Grebes. There was a good selection of
ducks but nothing unusual. The most common species was Ring-necked Duck, with
smaller numbers of American Wigeon, Mallard, Northern Shoveler, Redhead,
Bufflehead,
and Hooded Merganser. There was just a single goose, which was a Cackling
Goose. Although this lake is not a hot-spot for rarities, it is an excellent
place to look at ducks because there are good numbers, they are close and
easily visible, and there is usually a good variety.
