Carol's note about eagles over Stearns reminded me that I never sent out my
own eagle obs. - much to do (not shopping) on Black Friday!

La voila:

Don't you love it when the weather reports are wrong in exactly the right
direction? Instead of 0 and windy on Thanksgiving Day, we had 35 and barely
a breeze: a gold and blue day.

It was indeed beautiful out here in plains-Boulder County (on our pre-dinner
walk, we spotted harrier & kestrels--and the harrier returned this morning
to try for EC doves in the yard), but on Friday, it was even more lovely:
returning from a post-fete energy-walk, I noticed a small kettle of raptors
climbing above a local prairie dog village: 3 or 4 kestrels, 3 hawks too
high to be identified by me, and 4 mature bald eagles, gliding near each
other and exchanging wingdip greetings.

Happy holidays, everyone; see you on Christmas Bird Count day. Happy hunting
to those who are doing more than one.
