I went to Red Rocks this morning trying to relocate the Harris's Sparrow found
by Mike Henwood yesterday. In the hour (845a-945a) I was there I did not see
the Harris's or the Curve-billed Thrasher. I did get extended looks at the
Golden-crowned and White-throated Sparrows. On my way to Red Rocks, I realized
I failed to bring some millet and niger which didn't help as the feeders and
ground below was void of seed. If anyone goes to Red Rocks try to bring some
seed to keep our run of uncommon birds. Over ten years ago Red Rock's had
Rosy-Fnches! Who knows what else will show up with consistent seed at the
feeders!
