Union Res, east of Longmont in weld county, has a lot of ice and some good
birds this AM. A female duck showing a small tuft, a thin white ring at the
base of the bill and a long bright wing stripe was seen from the north side.It
could be a Lesser Scaup but has sort of a different look to it. It flew from
the west side toward the east and was lost against the east bank, we think it
set down again but we couldn't see where. Also present a male Barrow's
Goldeneye, the Black-legged Kittiwake and lingering Eared Horned and Western
Grebes. Bill and Inez Prather, Longmont
