I found the male Varied Thrush reported yesterday in my neighborhood today. There are a lot of cranberry bushes (?) in the neighborhood and he was feeding under one in a front yard. He was feeding with a large flock of American Robins. Also plentiful are Cedar Waxwings . Lots of berries around. If you want to look for this bird I would suggest you park at Longmont Estates Elementary School and walk east on Northwestern and look for the robins. I thought I did hear the Varied Thrush calling, but there was a lot of noise in the neighborhood. I had given up searching and was heading home when I found him. I did get two okay photos I will post later.
I might be available for a guided tour tomorrow. Todd Deininger Longmont, CO -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
