Cobirders,

I arrived at the footbridge crossing the Arkansas River below and north of Pueblo City Park at 10:00 a.m. this morning. I walked downstream on the north side of the river to the major stream that comes in from the north, and upstream to Pueblo Boulevard. I did not hear or see the Pacific Wren until 12:10 p.m, when I clearly heard it spontaneously calling while I was checking out the grassy island west of the concrete spillway dam. It was on the south side of the river upstream from the dam.

I rushed back east to the footbridge, and walked west on the south side of the river on a muddy trail. Where the mud gives way to dirt, there are old railroad tracks to the south. This is the area where the Wren was calling. It did not spontaneously call when I was there, and I left without seeing or disturbing it. I provide this update to help future observers know of alternative locations where the bird might be encountered.
