My wife Deena and I made a quick stop at the S. marina tires this
afternoon (around 3pm) to see what the cold weather brought down from
up north.

The head of my tripod decided it was a good time to fall off (stripped
threads - argh!) and we didn't have much time to sort through all the
birds, but gull numbers seemed to be up and we were able to pick out
the following species on the tires:

Ring-billed Gulls
Herring Gulls
California Gulls
Lesser Black-backed Gulls (2 individuals: 1 ad., 1 distant bird that looked 3+)
Great Black-backed Gull (1 ad.)

There was also a possible 1st-2nd winter Glaucous Gull on the tires,
but I could never get a decent look at it's head or hind end. It
should be an interesting weekend at the Pueblo Res. with all the water
up north freezing up!

Good birding,
Paul H.
