Today, while skiing at Keystone Ski Resort (Summit County), I hit the jackpot
with a flock of 200+ Rosy-finches, including all 3 species plus Hepburn's
subspecies. The birds were all in the North Peak area, near the top of the
Santiago lift. Below is my eBird submission with notes--sorry that it does
not cut-and-paste well. Also, it makes the posting somewhat long.

I made a very quick stop at the Blue River Water Treatment Plant (Silverthorne,
Summit Cty) where there were 20+ Goldeneyes, most of which were Barrow's. The
eBird list below gives specifics. Will go back in the next day or two to sort
through all the females.

Finally, there is a Northern Goshawk around the Dillon\Keystone area. Bonnie
Boex sent me a pic of a NOGO in her back yard, an adult bird. In talking with
ski patrol people at North Peak in Keystone, they have recently been seeing a
NOGO--not sure if the same bird.

Location: Keystone Ski Resort North Peak
Observation date: 1/14/11
Number of species: 5

Mountain Chickadee 5

Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch (Hepburn's) 5 Minimum count, hard to tell as
the birds seemed to be in constant motion.
Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch (Gray-crowned) 10 Most likely more but
difficult to get an accurate count
Black Rosy-Finch 3 Minimum count, hard to tell as the birds seemed to
be in constant motion

Brown-capped Rosy-Finch 180 There was a flock of ~200 Rosy-Finches in
the North Peak area of Keystone today. Far-and-away, the majority were BCRF's
but it was hard to get an accurate count. This is a conservative number. In
my four years of looking for Rosy-Finches at Keystone, this is by far the most
I have encountered at one time
