Hi CoBird Enthusiasts,

There is a peculiar House Finch that has been frequenting our feeding
station this winter. After consulting with Donald Beltz, I've learned
that the condition is called Leucistic or Leucism. This is having
partial white pigmentation without being completely albino. I'm
really excited to share these pictures with anyone who is interested
at http://picasaweb.google.com/andy.spellman.sr/LeucisticHouseFinch#.
This particular individual is a male House Finch with much white
coloration on his head and upper body. The typical House Finch would
be deep red to purplish where this on has white. I hope you enjoy
these photos.
