Birders, Prior to getting the shrike in El Paso County, we stopped at Lake Pueblo to see what we could. From the visitors center, the overlook above the south marina and the marina itself, we had:
Common Loon - 2 Horned Grebes Eared Grebes Western Grebes Pied-billed Grebes Bufflehead - many Common Goldeneye - many Common Merganser - 1 Ruddy Duck - 2 Great Black-backed Gull California Gull >3 Common Bushtits - >12 Canyon Towhee 2 and Turkeys across from Valco Ponds. Almost all the ducks and grebes were near the dam. The water level may be as high as I have ever seen it.
