This morning (1/17) Sol Miller and I decided to chase some of the birds that
has
been reported recently on cobirds. Interesting birds include:

Red Rocks (Jefferson County) 7:05 to 9:15
Golden-crowned Sparrow - Seen for about 10 seconds at around 8:45ish.
Harris's Sparrow - Seen with the Golden-crowned Sparrow for the same amount
of time.
White-throated Sparrow - Seen on 3 different occasions, two of those were in
the first 20 minutes.
Rosy-Finches - At one point I counted 140 on the rocks. Mostly Gray-crowned
(including a lot of Hepburn's), 2 Black, and ~10 Brown-capped. They were seen
for about half the time we were there, most of that time they were on the rocks
just to the south of the trading post.
PACIFIC WREN - 1 was heard calling on the drive out by the bridge. I heard
it
very well and played the tape just after I heard it to conclude that was indeed
what I heard. The location of the sighting can be found here:

South Platte River on 88th Ave. (Adams County) 10:00 to 12:00
   Long-tailed Duck - 1
   Barrow's Goldeneye - 5 (2 males, 3 females)
ICELAND GULL - 1 1st winter bird flew very low over us flying south along
the
river, it then flew towards the east and appeared to land on the mostly frozen
pond just to the east of the green and white tank. Couldn't see the pond from
our location.
   Marsh Wren - 1

We then got a phone call from Larry Semo telling us that he and Steve Mlodinow
had just found the TUFTED DUCK in Longmont (Boulder County), that was a great
find guys and thanks for getting word out so quickly. Here is a number of pics
I
took of the bird: http://www.pbase.com/birdingwild1/2011_photos.
