While unsuccessfully looking for the Tufted Duck at Golden ponds in
Longmont we came upon 2 sick or injured Geese in between ponds 2 and
3. From afar the first goose we spied looked to be caught in fishing
line because it flapped wings but went no where. When we got close
with a knife to cut line we saw it was not attached but its legs
seemed unable to work and it was flapping and rolling about. Stranger
still was to note a second goose with the same symptoms close by on
the edge of the ice.
We called Longmont animal control, frustrating , and the Greenwood
wildlife rehab center. We were in a small car with a dog and felt
unable to deal.
1.. Did anyone else see these poor geese and 2 what could it have been.
Thanks
