Last night i saw a dark gull and lending toward Great black-backed Gull with the strong winds and with the report of a Slaty-backed Gull farther north from us, couple of weeks ago. I wanted make sure I was making the right call. I called Larry Semo to double check the field mark of the Slaty-backed Gull.
Today there was field trip with the Boulder Bird Club out at Valmont Power Plant. I was able walk out where the gulls were hanging-out at on the ice. indeed it was a Great Black-backed Gull, clearly had a good looked at head and the bigger size it self.
