Two Rough-legged Hawks fed within a quarter-mile of each other this morning on Castlewood Canyon Road, Franktown --the first we've observed here this winter.
Bill Kaempfer's Bohemian Waxwings in Boulder and these two suggest some impact from the cold. Our feeders have had a busy three days, the usual species we've observed all winter. No Townsend's Solitaires, no Pine Siskins. Noticing what birds you don't see often is harder than reporting the ones you do observe.
