I received a phone call from Joe Roller at 0930. He is presently looking for a possible YEJU reported on Monday at 4700 Holly (just north of I-70) by Cookie Spatafora. Joe has talked to Cookie to get more details about her sighting. She saw the bird from a distance of about 5 feet when it came to a feeder outside her office window and is confident of her ID. She has not seen the junco since her first sighting. She noticed the pale eye color and very pale underparts, but according to Joe, did not note the bill color or see the rufous color on the back (office has tinted windows). According to Joe, several juncos are coming to the feeder and the ground below the feeder this morning, but as of 0930, no sign of a YEJU. If you try for this bird, Joe recommends taking a camera. This would be a first state record if confirmed.
