Hi birders, My friend Steve Jones is holding a meeting today for volunteers needed for Burrowing Owl surveys in Boulder County. You don't need to attend to help out. Details below.
Contact Steve Jones if you are interested at [email protected] --Scott Severs, Longmont ____________________________________________________________ Folks, We have 38 volunteers (about 25 monitoring teams) signed up so far for this year's burrowing owl survey on Boulder County Parks and Open Space, and we could use a dozen more volunteers so that we can strive to cover all 183 points. We're having our organizational meeting tomorrow (Sunday), 2:30-4:30 p.m., at the George Reynolds Branch Library on Table Mesa Drive in South Boulder. Here's what we are asking of volunteers: 1. Adopt 4-8 points on county open space. 2. Visit each point for 10 minutes, four times, between 15 April and 15 August, using binoculars or a spotting scope to search for owls and other raptors. 3. Submit reports after each visit. If this appeals to you, and you're certain you can carry out four surveys during that time period, we'd love to have your help.
