Well this years Crane Fest is a wrap and I think it went very well. Even the weather was superb in the 60's with light winds. We had a full venue of arts and crafts at the Ski Hi auditorium. In general, vendors seemed to have had a good weekend.
Cranes were extremely concentrated this year which created the most vehicle congestion I have ever seen. Many of the wildlife turnouts were full, and little place to park. Not sure why the birds are not more dispersed as there are ample numbers of fields with grain available to them. The lectures on owls, Atlas program, and cranes and the bus tours were well attended. Photographer Weldon Lee presented the key note address as well as a photog workshop that was a success. All in all, a very well attended and fun Festival.
