Birders, We are visiting from out-of-state but have seen very few reports on the listserve regarding recent rosy-finches or ptarmigan. Are there any reliable spots in the state for either of these at this point in the season?
I have had luck with ptarmigan before at Left Hand Reservoir but upon inspection, it didn't look kind for my small 2WD vehicle with the recent snow this morning. I also used to have luck up in Guanella Pass but I heard it's not plowed far enough up to find them? I know some older sources say that Gunnison has some feeders that often have rosy-finches; maybe there are some in that area? Perhaps Crested Butte? For whatever it's worth, I was surprised to see an AMERICAN DIPPER near Confluence Park in Denver. This was near the intersection of I-25 and N. Speer Blvd (by REI). Many thanks for any help, please contact me off-listserve with any suggestions, Cory G. Iowa -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
