Birders, Today my family and I went around Ft. Collins checking for any migrants. After many stops I felt like we had had a good enough number. Here is what we saw: Dixson Reservoir : 1 Song Sparrow 1 Marsh Wren 3-6 Bushtits 1 Sharp-shined Hawk 1 Belted Kingfisher 1 Brown Creeper
After that we headed to the pond at the turn off to Lory State Park coming from the road that goes North and South on the ridge by Horsetooth Reservoir were we found nothing except two Song Sparrows calling to each other. Watson Lake area: 2 Golden Eagles 2 Herring Gulls 1 Great Blue Heron 1 Great Egret After that score we went to the Duck Lake area we were also in the marshes in the Natural Areas by it but most of the Ducks were found in the lake or in the treatment plant right next to it. Duck Lake area: 5-10 Redheads 6-10 Cavasback 4 Common Goldeneye 5 Bufflehead 1 Common Merganser 1 Sharp-shined Hawk 2-3 Gadwall 4 Cinnamon Teal 20+ Green-winged Teal So after a good birding day for me I wish everybody else good birding days.
