With spring birding being a few weeks away and things a liitle slow, I decided to go look for an exotic. I was able to find the Mandarin Duck reported by Rob Green at Prospect Lake in Wheat Ridge. As I watched this gorgeous bird chase around all the natives, I wondered how he got there. My 9 year-old daughter stared at this duck, not caring that he was an exotic and said, "Daddy, this is the most beautiful duck I've ever seen!" I must admit, she could be right!
